This marks my tenth year of teaching band at Nashua-Plainfield High School. Prior to this, I taught 6th-12th grade
band, music theory, and directed the musicals at Corwith-Wesley/LuVerne Community Schools, for three years. Currently,
I am also the Saxophone Instructor at Riverland Community College in Austin, MN. I attended
Buena Vista University in Storm Lake and received my Bachelors Degree in K-12 Instrumental and Vocal Music Education in May
1997. I also attended the University of Northern Iowa and received my Masters Degree in Music Education in May 2009.
My professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education (MENC), Iowa Bandmasters Association (IBA),
Northeast Iowa Bandmasters Association (NEIBA), National Education Association (NEA), President of NPEA, Iowa State Education
Association (ISEA), and the Iowa Alliance For Arts Education (IAAE).
I am very excited to be a part of the Nashua-Plainfield
Music Department. Each year, my students become more and more dedicated and successful. I am impressed with the talented students
I have in my band. I am looking forward to another fantastic year with these kids!
